Join professional musician and choir mistress Vessie Ivanova as she helps participants to improve their singing voice and experience the pure joy of singing with others. Participants will learn breathing and body exercises, expression and storytelling to improve their performance skills. The group will explore songs from different genres and learn about different styles of singing.

I noticed in the second week of singing that Vessie was logged on as “Vessie’s Computer” and not Kaleidoscope NI. Is this the reason why it hasn’t been recorded? I might have to miss some of tomorrow’s class and would like, if possible to catch up later. I am really enjoying the class and don’t want to miss it.

It’s a terrible shame but I’ve spoken to Vessie and she says there’s no problem with anyone who missed that class logging into the the next one as she will quickly recap the work from the previous lesson.

Especially for practicing/learning and for playing along on guitar as I do, it would be helpful to know the key we’re going to sing in in advance. I’d printed out 4 pages of Love changes everything in C from Ultimate Guitar, then the key changed at the beginning, so during the session I went back in to transpose it to F (which is perfect for me, by the way, as I have a low voice) and reprinted it, but it seems it may now be in a third key. If the keys are likely to change a bit initially, it would be useful to know, as I then won’t make a print-out until a final key’s been settled on. Also, you mentioned Fly me to the moon and another song, which I didn’t catch. Thank you, and sorry to keep coming and going from the session, as my laptop’s deciding to be a bit temperamental at the moment especially when I’m using Zoom, and suddenly crashing.

Such a shame the teacher today chose a piece unknown to me. At my age to remember all those words and a new tune is a bit like asking the teacher to play her piano without music! It did not bode well for the lesson so I signed off. There is I found subsequently quite a variety to choose from, though they were not there yesterday morning. I only had the first 2 printed off. I will print off the others for next week in the hope that they are used. Get well soon Vessie.

Thank you for all the helpful comments that have been posted on your website concerning the Singing With Vessie classes. People have been joining from the anywhere in the UK which is great. Vessie has chosen some well known and enjoyable pieces as well as familiar songs for us all to sing. She also has offered us excellent vocal warm up exercises prior to singing the actual pieces.
Most choirs are not currently meeting up so this one of the only on-line choirs that is still actually functioning. It has been a real bonus having these music sessions made available via Greysnet.
